Max's Kansas City encerrou há 25 anos

Foi no dia 31 de dezembro de 1982 que fechou (definitivamente) uma das mais importantes salas de concertos da década de 70, em Nova Iorque (E.U.A.)

Juntamente com o CBGB, tornou-se num espaço fulcral para assistir às novas bandas rock (na ocasião), onde também marcaram presença bastantes bandas punk.

Iggy Pop, Velvet Underground (e mais tarde Lou Reed a solo) eram frequentadores habituais, para além de lá actuarem por diversas vezes.

Também marcaram presença os Ramones, Misfits, Blondie, The Damned, New York Dolls, Dictators, Suicide, Pere Ubu, Wayne County, Johnny Thunders & The Heartbreakers, The Terrorists e até mesmo Sid Vicious (depois da separação dos Sex Pistols).

São inúmeras as edições que reúnem vários momentos desses espectáculos, especialmente com grande destaque entre 1976 e 1979...

O Max's Kansas City abriu em 1965, pela mão de Mickey Ruskin (que faleceu um ano depois de a sala fechar).
