O site Stuff publicou uma interessante reportagem sobre um livro lançado há dias, que contempla a cena punk na Nova Zelândia (mais exactamente em Auckland), no final da década de 1970, início de 1980...
Book provides rare glimpse of Auckland's punk scene around 1980
Anthony Phelps was one of the first photography students at Selwyn College, having lobbied for the course to be offered, when he started photographing lunchtime concerts at school, and sneaking underage into gigs, about 1978.
That was the same year he first heard the Sex Pistols on Radio Hauraki, excitedly recording it onto a cassette tape to share with his mates.
“I guess it was the energy of it, it was a big change from other 70s music ... all slow ballads and nothing that exciting. I think that’s why punk spread all over the world,” Phelps said.
