This web space was thought and created to show photographic work developed roughly on the last decade or more.
The addiction to improvised, experimental and free languages on music, besides the inner reward to the senses and emotions in a different way to experience music, brought a whole new field to explore through the viewfinder.
Earlier, the passion for travel was (and it is) doubled by the frantic obssession to observe and get involved with places, colours, smells and people throughout this world. Again, the viewfinder was since the beginning a way to somehow keep a visual memory.
This website will not be static and the galleries will feature future works, either on 'Musicians Gallery' and 'World Places', but also new sections already on development. Those new addictions will be periodically highlighted right here in this intro box.

These are some photographs i've been doing on the last four years.
Jazz and improvised music is a whole world of surprises and emotions.
Not immediacy nor straight ahead processes, improvisation is a mysterious place which requires attention and deep compromise from the listener.
Once you step in hardly you can get out.
Just to embrace a new listening, a new record, and new music.
Photographing the musicians on performance, on stage or during soundchecks was a defy to myself.
These photographs represents some musicians performing in Portugal, most of it during jazz festivals.
They are my personal view of the music and the way i saw and heard the musicians themselves in the whole atmosphere of their music.
